The Wise Crow and the Cunning Fox

In a big, green forest, lived a happy crow named Prudence. One sunny day, Prudence found a yummy piece of bright yellow cheese! She picked it up carefully and flew to her favorite tall tree, landing on the highest branch.

Just as she was about to enjoy her tasty treat, a cute, fluffy red fox walked by under the tree. His name was Finn. Finn looked up and saw the cheese in Prudence's beak.

Finn smiled up at Prudence. 'Hello, dear Prudence Crow!' he called out in a sweet voice. 'Your feathers are so beautiful! They sparkle like sunshine!'

Prudence felt very happy hearing these kind words. She puffed out her feathers, looking around proudly. She held her cheese very, very tight in her beak.

Finn continued, 'I'm sure your voice is as lovely as your feathers, Prudence! Will you sing us a song? Oh, how wonderful it would be to hear your sweet voice!'

Prudence loved to sing! She was so delighted by Finn's words. Without thinking, she opened her beak wide to sing 'Caw!' But oh dear! The cheese went 'plop!' and fell to the ground!

Finn quickly caught the falling cheese. He held the cheese gently with his paws and looked up at Prudence. Prudence looked sadly at her cheese on the ground.

Prudence took a deep breath. 'Oh, Finn!' she said. 'I was tricked by your sweet words and dropped my cheese. I should have used my clever mind first.'

Finn saw that Prudence was sad and felt a little bit shy. 'I'm sorry, Prudence,' he said. 'I just wanted to be a little bit playful, but I didn't mean to make you sad.'

Finn carefully broke the cheese in half. He held out one piece to Prudence. 'If you'd like,' he said kindly, 'I can share this cheese with you. Being honest is much nicer than playing tricks.'

Prudence flew down from the tree. She took the piece of cheese Finn offered. They both munched happily on their cheese. From that day on, Prudence always remembered to use her smart mind!

And Finn learned that being honest and friendly was much more fun than playing tricks. They lived happily ever after in the forest, good friends forever. Remember, little ones, let's trust our minds, not just sweet words!
