Lily loved her little landscape notebook and her colorful pencils more than anything. Wherever she went, her notebook went too. Her favorite model was the giant oak tree that lived right outside her bedroom window. Lily spent hours watching its branches dance in the wind, trying to capture every tiny detail on her paper.

Lily giggled as she tried to catch the flying leaves spinning in the air. She quickly grabbed her notebook to record the explosion of colors before the wind carried them all away.

Winter knocked on the door with a cold breeze and a blanket of white snow. The oak tree’s branches were now bare and dark, but it still looked very strong. Lily and Marshmallow stayed warm inside, watching the world turn white through the glass. Lily used her shimmering silver pencils to draw the tree’s quiet, frozen beauty under the snow.

Once the cycle of the year was complete, Lily had four finished drawings. She lined them up side-by-side on her wooden desk. “It’s incredible!” she cried out. She was amazed to see how the very same tree could wear four different outfits in just one year.
