The Little Caterpillar's Colorful World
The little caterpillar woke up on a big, green leaf. He opened his eyes and smiled at the sun. 'Good morning, sun!' he chirped. A new day was here.
The little caterpillar was hungry. He wiggled across the leaf. 'Yummy!' he thought. Munch, munch, munch. He ate the tasty green leaf. It was his home and his breakfast!
The caterpillar saw a bright red flower. A little ladybug sat on the flower. 'Hello, little friend!' said the ladybug. The flower was so red!
Next, he saw a yellow flower, bright like the sun. A fuzzy bee buzzed by. Bzzzz! 'Hello, caterpillar!' said the bee. The flower smelled so sweet.
The caterpillar saw a blue butterfly. It fluttered in the air. Flap, flap, flap! 'What a lovely day!' said the butterfly. The caterpillar wished he could fly, too.
The caterpillar wiggled and ate and made new friends. Now he was very sleepy. He found a cozy branch and started to spin a soft, silky bed.
The little caterpillar slept deep inside his cozy cocoon. The wind blew. The rain fell. The sun shone. He was safe and warm in his little house.
One morning, the cocoon started to wiggle. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle! Something was happening inside. The little caterpillar was waking up. He was ready to come out!
Out of the cocoon came a beautiful butterfly! Where did the caterpillar go? He was now a butterfly with colorful wings of red, yellow, and blue.
The ladybug saw the new butterfly. 'Wow!' she said. 'You are so pretty!' All his friends were so happy to see him. The butterfly smiled.
The colorful butterfly flew high in the sky. Flap, flap, flap! He danced from flower to flower, sipping sweet juice. The world looked so beautiful from up high!
The sun went down. The butterfly rested on a big green leaf. He was happy and peaceful. 'Good night,' whispered the world. He closed his eyes and dreamed sweet dreams.
