Little Benek the Lynx was walking in the forest. He found a brand-new path on the ground. The path was made of red, blue, yellow, and green stones. “Where does this path go?” Benek wondered. The stones sparkled under the bright sun.

Benek looked closely at the stones. “Red, blue, yellow, and green. What a beautiful pattern!” he said. But oh no! Further down the path, some stones were missing. The pattern was broken, and the path stopped.

Just then, Zipzip the Rabbit hopped over. “Hello, Benek! These colorful stones look like so much fun!” he said. Benek wagged his tail. “Yes, Zipzip, but the path is broken. We need to find the missing stones to finish it!”

Benek looked at the pattern and asked his friend, “Red, blue, yellow... Zipzip, what color comes next?” Zipzip perked up his ears and looked around. “I see it! A green stone is peeking out from the bushes!” he shouted.

Palamut the Squirrel scurried down from a tall oak tree. He wagged his bushy tail. “I can help you!” he said happily. Palamut picked up the green stone and handed it to Benek. Benek carefully placed the stone in the empty spot.

Now the path was growing longer: red, blue, yellow, and green. But a little further ahead, a blue stone was missing. Diken the Hedgehog came rolling slowly toward them like a little ball.

Diken had something special on his back. Among the leaves on his prickles, there was a bright blue stone. “I found this by the stream,” Diken said with a smile. “It belongs right here!”

Zarif the Fawn walked over with very graceful steps. “I know the next color!” she said softly. “After red and blue, we need yellow!” Benek noticed a yellow stone caught right between Zarif’s tiny antlers.

High above in the trees, Civil the Sparrow chirped a happy song. “Tweet, tweet! I can see the whole path from the sky!” she called out. Zarif looked up at the blue sky and smiled at her little bird friend.

“Look! A red stone is hiding under that giant leaf!” Civil chirped, pointing with her wing. Benek ran to the leaf, lifted it up with his paw, and found the very last red stone for the path.

Finally, the path reached a big gate. It was a garden full of beautiful flowers. Zarif and Benek placed the very last stones in the ground. Clink, clank! The garden gate swung wide open. It was safe and pretty inside.

All the friends went inside the garden to play and eat sweet berries. Zipzip and Palamut were jumping and dancing with joy among the flowers. Benek smiled and said, “Working together makes the way easy and bright!”
