Which Book for Which Child?
Loves animals: The Color-Changing Bug is about Spot, a bug whose color changes with his feelings, which makes it a gentle way to talk about emotions. Skye the Sky-Blue Ladybug goes further for older kids: a ladybug who looks different and learns to accept herself.
Loves nature and being outside: Flowers are Blooming is a very short garden walk with Little Lina, good for the youngest listeners. The Whispering Tree follows Leo, who finds a talking tree in the park that teaches him why nature needs protecting.

Matching the Book to the Reader
Interest gets a child to open a book; the right difficulty keeps them reading. A few practical checks:
- Ages 0-3: Very short books, one idea per page, lots of naming and pointing. Read the same few books often.
- Ages 4-6: Stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Ask your child to guess what happens next before you turn the page.
- Ages 7-9: Kids start reading alone. Use the five-finger rule: they read a page and raise a finger for each word they can’t read. Two to four fingers means “just right.”
