The Whispering Tree

Leo was a curious and cheerful boy who loved playing in the park. Every day was a new adventure, chasing colorful butterflies and watching busy ants march on the ground.

One day, in a quiet corner of the park he had never explored before, he saw a huge, old tree with branches that reached for the sky. Its trunk was so thick that Leo couldn't wrap his arms all the way around it.

Leo gently touched the tree's bark. Just then, he heard a soft whisper rustling through the leaves: 'Hello, little friend. I'm so glad you're here.'

Leo couldn't believe his ears! 'You... you can talk?' he asked excitedly. 'Of course,' the tree whispered back. 'I am the heart of this park. I give homes to birds, food to squirrels, and shade to everyone on sunny days.'

The Wise Old Tree's voice sounded a little sad. 'But sometimes, people forget about nature. The trash they leave behind hurts the soil and our tiny animal friends who live here.'

Leo had a wonderful idea. 'Don't be sad, Wise Old Tree! I will help you!' he said and ran home. He soon returned with colorful flower seeds and a small, red watering can.

Leo dug little holes in the soil around the Wise Old Tree and lovingly planted the seeds. The Wise Old Tree helped by gently shading him with its branches. Working together was so much fun.

That evening at dinner, Leo told his mom all about the Whispering Tree and how they could protect nature. 'Mom, the trees need our love, too!' he said.

The next morning, Leo went to the park with his dad. His dad helped him pick up the trash from around the Wise Old Tree. The park was sparkling clean now.

Soon, the seeds Leo planted began to sprout, and the ground around the Wise Old Tree was filled with colorful flowers. Leo gave his best friend, the tree, a big hug. He knew now that loving and protecting nature was a job for everyone.
