Early one morning, the sun stretched its golden fingers across the forest. Pippin, a tiny bird with bright feathers, woke up in his cozy nest. He chirped a happy song, feeling that today was the perfect day for an adventure. He looked at the world around him and wondered what secrets the trees were hiding.

As Pippin hopped onto a nearby branch, he noticed something strange. Two twigs had fallen and crossed each other perfectly against a straight branch. “Look!” he chirped. “That looks just like the letter 'A'!” It was the start of a wonderful discovery. The forest was full of hidden shapes.

Pippin flew down to the forest floor and met his friend Chester the squirrel. Chester was busy gathering acorns for his breakfast. “Chester!” Pippin called out. “I am finding letters in the trees! Do you want to help me find the Alphabet of the Woods?” Chester flicked his bushy tail and nodded with a grin.

Pippin and Chester climbed to the top of a rocky hill. From there, they looked at the jagged peaks of the mountains in the distance and the way the pine trees grew in sharp points. “Look at those branches, Chester!” Pippin pointed. The bent wood of a fallen cedar formed a perfect, wide 'M' on the grass.

The two friends made their way toward the sparkling blue pond. There, they found Shelly the turtle sunning herself on a flat rock. “Hello, Shelly!” Pippin chirped. “We are looking for letters. Have you seen any shapes that look like drawings today?” Shelly blinked slowly and smiled at her friends.

Shelly pointed her nose toward the water. A large, round lily pad floated near the shore, and a single drop of dew fell into the center, creating a perfect circle. “That is an 'O',” Shelly whispered. Pippin and Shelly watched the ripples spread out in beautiful rings across the calm surface of the lake.

Pippin flew toward the rushing stream that ran through the heart of the woods. He landed on a wet stone and looked at where the water split into two paths around a large rock. On the bank, a fallen branch was split into a fork. “A 'Y'!” Pippin cheered. The river was writing stories with its movements.

Chester caught up with Pippin near an old, crumbling stone wall. A thick, green vine was growing up the side of a tree, curling around and back toward the ground. “Look at this vine, Chester!” Pippin shouted. The vine made a beautiful, curvy 'C' against the dark bark of the tree trunk.

Pippin and Shelly gathered all the treasures they had seen in their minds. They realized that every leaf, every stone, and every ripple was a part of a giant alphabet. From the 'A' in the branches to the 'C' in the vines, the whole forest was coming together to tell a magnificent story.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple, Pippin perched on the very top of the tallest tree. He looked out over the woods and realized the truth. “The forest isn't just a place to live,” he chirped softly. “The whole world is a giant, beautiful book, and I can read it every day.”
