Pip the Little Bird and the Echo Valley

Pip the little bird sang a short song in the middle of the valley. Tweet! he chirped happily. A moment later, he heard his own voice return to him from across the hills. The valley answered back with a soft, friendly Tweet!

The sound was as light as a feather floating in the breeze. Pip tilted his head to the side and smiled a big, birdy smile. He realized the valley was talking to him, so he sat very still to listen.

Down in the flower-filled meadow, Pip met Benny the Bunny. Shall we say 'Hop' together? Pip asked. They both turned toward the mountains and called out Hop! as loud as they could.

Benny pricked up his long, fuzzy ears and waited. From far away, the valley gently called back, Hop! Benny’s eyes sparkled with wonder and he wiggled his nose in excitement.

Next, Pip flew over to see Bella the Goat. Bella had a shiny silver bell around her neck. Tink! went the bell as she moved. The valley replied with a very polite and clear Tink!

Bella wagged her short tail and stood very still. The mountains were answering her with joy. It was the sweetest, most peaceful music she had ever heard in the valley.

Sammy the Squirrel was sitting on a thick oak branch nearby. Pip joined him, and together they whispered a quiet Click! The valley was very kind and whispered the tiny sound right back to them.

Henry the Hedgehog joined the group at the bottom of the tree. He picked up a crisp, golden leaf and let it drop. Plop! it went. The valley brought the sound back like a special gift.

Finally, wise Toby the Turtle crawled over to join his friends. Everyone gathered together and shouted a giant Hello! They waited and waited until the valley called Hello! back to the whole group.

Benny the Bunny and Bella the Goat stood side by side in the grass. They held their breath, waiting for the valley's next whisper. It felt wonderful to be quiet and listen together.

Sammy the Squirrel and Henry the Hedgehog looked at each other and smiled. Nature was returning every one of their voices with love. The little friends were amazed by the magic of their valley.

Pip and Toby the Turtle listened one last time as the sun began to set. Nature brings our voices back to us, Pip chirped. When we listen carefully, we can find little miracles everywhere.
