It was a sunny morning in the forest. Nutty the little squirrel found a sparkling blue wooden boat by the stream. Just then, Fluffy the rabbit hopped out from the bushes. Her eyes brightened when she saw the boat. Both of them reached for the toy at the same time.

“This is mine!” Nutty cried. “No, I saw it first!” Fluffy said. Both of them grabbed an end of the boat and began to pull. Neither Nutty nor Fluffy wanted to let go. They both looked very grumpy as they tugged the toy back and forth.

After a while, they grew tired. They sat down on the soft stones by the stream to rest. As they watched the water flow by, they both started to think. They realized that if they kept pulling, the boat might break, and no one would get to play.

“I have an idea!” Nutty shouted happily. “If we take turns, we can both have fun. We can build a bridge of friendship! You go first, and then it will be my turn.” Fluffy loved the idea and nodded her head with a big smile.

It was Fluffy's turn first. She gently placed the boat into the calm water of the stream. She watched with a big smile as it floated along the current. Nutty stood nearby on the bank, happily watching how well his friend was playing.

“Now it is my turn!” Nutty said excitedly. Fluffy carefully took the boat out of the water and handed it to Nutty. Nutty began to play his own game, making the boat hop over the small ripples. Being a captain made him feel very happy.

Fluffy waited patiently for Nutty to finish his turn. Every now and then, they called out to each other, “Look how fast it goes!” Waiting was not as hard as they thought it would be, because they knew the turn would come back again.

As they played together, the game became even more fun. Their laughter echoed through the colorful forest. They realized that sharing their time was much better than playing all by themselves.

Suddenly, Pip the little bird fluttered down from a branch. “May I join you?” Pip asked softly. Nutty answered right away, “Of course, Pip! But we have a special rule: we all take turns so everyone can play.”

Then, Thorn the hedgehog popped out from the bushes. Fluffy lifted the boat from the stream and smiled. “Welcome, Thorn! It is your turn now,” she said, handing the toy to him. Thorn was very happy for the kind welcome.

Nutty looked at all his happy friends. He realized that sharing didn't stop the game; it actually made the fun last much longer. Waiting for a turn was a great chance to talk and laugh with his best friends.

As the sun began to set, they gathered their things. Nutty and Fluffy carried the boat together as they walked toward their homes. They promised to meet at the same spot tomorrow to play across the bridge of friendship again.
