On a cool, crisp morning, Little Koala Pip woke up and found a wonderful surprise. At the foot of his favorite tree lay a blanket as soft and white as the clouds in the sky. As soon as Pip saw it, he felt a warm sense of peace.

Pip quickly wrapped the blanket around his shoulders. But oh no! One corner of the blanket was left out and kept getting caught under his feet as he tried to walk. Pip just couldn't get as warm as he wanted to be.

Pip pulled and tugged at the fabric. He turned to the right and he turned to the left. He really wanted to fix the blanket, but every time he moved, a new wrinkle appeared somewhere else. Pip was starting to feel a little bit tired from all the struggling.

Suddenly, a cheerful “Chirp, chirp!” came from above. Pip’s best friend, Chirpy the bird, landed nearby. “Do you need some help, Pip?” his little friend asked with a kind smile.

Pip grabbed one corner of the blanket, and Chirpy grabbed the other corner with his beak. Together, they lifted the blanket high into the air and spread it out wide across the grass. Now, the blanket looked like a giant, smooth white sheet.

“Now let’s fold the corners neatly,” Chirpy suggested. One by one, they pulled the edges straight. Chirpy used his wings to smooth the fabric while Pip used his soft paws to press down every fold with care.

Finally, the blanket was laid out perfectly neat and flat on the ground. There wasn't a single wrinkle or a messy bump left. Chirpy chirped happily, looking at the great job they had done together.

With a big smile, Pip lay down right in the center of the soft blanket. The ground beneath him now felt as soft as cotton and very, very cozy. It was exactly what he had been looking for.

Chirpy was a little tired too, but he was very happy. He flew down and settled onto the blanket right next to his friend. “This is truly wonderful, Pip,” he whispered softly.

The two friends lay on their backs and began to watch the sky together. It was so much fun to watch the white clouds floating through the bright blue sky, changing into all sorts of funny shapes.

Pip smiled to himself as he rested. He realized that when something is done in an organized and careful way, the result is much more comfortable. His tidy blanket had given him the best bed in the forest.

As the sun rose higher and the morning grew warm, Pip’s eyes became very heavy. He fell fast asleep on his soft blanket with Chirpy by his side. The forest felt more peaceful than ever before.
