Little Frog Hop and the Colorful Umbrellas
One rainy morning, a little frog named Hop woke up to the sound of soft drops tapping against his window. Outside, a sparkling rain was falling, turning the world into a watery playground. Hop jumped out of bed, eager to start his wet adventure.
At his front door, Hop found a wonderful surprise waiting for him. It was a giant, colorful umbrella with bright red, yellow, and blue stripes. Hop gripped the handle tightly with both hands and lifted it high, feeling very proud.
Just then, his best friend Croaky hopped over through the grass. Croaky was carrying a smaller, bright yellow umbrella. “Good morning, Hop!” Croaky called out. “It is a perfect day for an umbrella stroll, isn't it?”
Hop stopped walking and closed his eyes to listen to the rhythm of the rain. The heavy drops hitting his big, striped umbrella made a deep, hollow “BOOM BOOM” sound. It sounded like a giant drum beating in the forest.
Croaky decided to listen to his umbrella, too. On his small yellow one, the raindrops made a high, gentle “tap-tap-tap” sound. “Look, Hop! My umbrella sounds like a tiny piano!” Croaky said with a giggle.
The two friends stood close together to compare the different music. On one side, there was a heavy “BOOM BOOM,” and on the other, a light “tap-tap.” Together, the two umbrellas were performing a beautiful rain duet.
Hop had a sudden, fun idea. “It’s not just umbrellas! Everything in the forest has a voice,” he said. He reached out and tapped a large, red-spotted mushroom with his finger. The mushroom made a solid “THUMP!” sound.
Croaky joined the game immediately. He reached toward a wide, wet leaf hanging low from a tree branch. When he gave it a little tap, the leaf made a soft, rustling “flick-flick” sound. The forest felt like one big musical instrument.
After a while, the rain began to slow down and then stopped completely. As the sun peeked through the clouds, a giant, glowing rainbow appeared in the sky. The forest looked brighter and fresher than ever before.
Hop and Croaky started walking home, humming the new songs they had discovered in the rain. They were already looking forward to the next rainy day and the new music it would bring to their green world.
