Ziggy and the Little Bird
One sunny morning, a little giraffe named Ziggy was walking through the tall, golden grass of the savanna. Suddenly, he noticed something small moving on the ground. He leaned down with curiosity to see what it was.
It was a tiny bird named Pip. Pip was flapping his wings with all his might. He was trying to lift his feet off the grass, but every time he tried, he landed softly back on the ground.
Ziggy did not want to scare the little bird, so he did not go too close. He hid his long neck behind a wide acacia tree and watched Pip from a distance. Ziggy was amazed by how hard the bird was trying.
After many tries, Pip was a little tired. He hopped onto a small, flat stone to rest. He needed to let his wings grow strong again. He tucked his head back and used his beak to fix his feathers.
After a short rest, Pip did not give up. He stood up straight as if to say, “I will try again!” He began to move his wings again, but this time his rhythm was much steadier and stronger.
And finally, he did it! This time, Pip rose higher than before. His feet were no longer touching the dusty ground. He hovered in the air for a few seconds, finding his balance.
Ziggy could not stay still. When he saw his little friend’s success, he stretched his long neck as high as he could toward the blue sky. He was cheering for Pip in his heart.
With a great effort, Pip flapped his wings and reached the lowest branch of a nearby tree. The branch bounced slightly as he grabbed it with his tiny feet. He was finally high up, looking at the view.
“There is even more to see up there!” Pip seemed to think. He felt much more confident now. He took off again and flew to a branch that was even higher. He was getting stronger with every flap.
Ziggy watched with wonder as his tiny friend grew more and more brave. Pip was now moving easily between the branches, landing wherever he liked. Ziggy was so proud of him.
Ziggy realized something very important right then. Everyone learns at their own pace. Some fly right away, and some need many tries. The most important thing is to keep going at your own speed.
As Pip flew high into the endless blue sky, Ziggy smiled at him one last time. The little bird had learned to fly, and Ziggy had learned that every living thing has its own beautiful rhythm.
