Little Swan and the Shiny Water Drop

Mavis the Little Swan was gliding on the calm pond. She saw something sparkling on a green lily pad. Oh, what is this? Mavis asked. It was a water drop, clear as glass. It was so very shiny!

Then, Paytak the duckling came waddling by. Paytak looked closely at the water drop. Quack quack! This drop shines just like a yellow sun, he said. Mavis smiled. The water drop really was a warm, yellow color.

Tospik the turtle slowly approached from the shore. He stretched his neck to look at the drop. Look, friends, said Tospik, This drop looks like a green leaf. Paytak and Mavis were very surprised. Now the drop was green!

Zipzip the tiny frog hopped onto a leaf with a ribbit. I see it too! he said happily. This drop is like the deep blue sky. Tospik and Zipzip admired the blueness inside the drop.

Civil the sparrow flapped her wings and landed on the tip of a branch. She looked at the drop with her tiny eyes. Tweet tweet! What a beautiful pink flower this is! said Civil. Zipzip looked up and agreed with the sparrow. The drop was now glowing with pink light.

Pitir the rabbit came out from the grass, shaking his long ears. He twitched his nose and sniffed the drop. My nose is tingling! This drop looks as soft as a white cloud, said Pitir. Civil chirped happily.

Pirpir the dragonfly stayed above the drop with her thin wings. Buzz! Look, said Pirpir, This drop is like a silver mirror. Pitir pricked up his ears. The water drop had truly become a silver mirror reflecting everything.

Findik the squirrel hung down from a tree branch. Shaking his tail, he looked at the drop. Tap tap! I see an orange fruit here, said Findik. Pirpir flew in a circle around the squirrel. The drop was now in the most beautiful shade of orange.

Benek the little fawn came to the edge of the lake with graceful steps. He leaned down and looked closely at the drop. Baa! This drop shines like a golden star, said Benek. Findik looked curiously from the branch down at the deer. The drop was sparkling with a golden color.

Finally, Ugur the ladybug landed right on the edge of the leaf with a flutter. Spot! What I see is a red dot, said Ugur. Benek breathed in and smiled at his tiny friend. The drop was now bright red.

A light wind blew. The leaf trembled gently. Plop! The water drop slid off the leaf and fell into the pond. Ripples spread across the water. Mavis the Little Swan and Ugur the ladybug watched the drop join the water.

The surface of the pond was now filled with thousands of lights. Mavis and Paytak looked at the golden reflections on the water. How wonderful it was to look at something with friends! Everything in nature looked much more beautiful when they were together.
