Lily loved to lose herself in the magical world of books. But her most favorite time of all was when the sun dipped below the horizon and the moon began to smile through her window. Her bedside table and the corners of her mattress were always overflowing with books that opened doors to new adventures.

One Saturday morning, Lily had a brilliant idea. She took a small, plain wooden shelf from the corner of her room and began to paint it with bright, cheerful colors. She decided this would be a special place just for books she would read at bedtime. Now, she finally had her very own “Sleepy Library.”

Lily carefully filled this special shelf with only the most peaceful stories. She chose short books where giants didn't make loud noises, tales of characters floating on cotton-candy clouds, and adventures of trees whispering softly in the wind.

Every night, after putting on her favorite pajamas, she would walk over to the shelf with excitement. She would run her fingers along the spines of the books, carefully choosing the one that would guide her dreams that night. This little moment of choice was one of the best parts of her day.

Over time, Lily noticed something important. Stories about nature, calm lakes, and gentle friendships made her feel as light as a feather. When she read these books, her heart beat slowly and she felt completely relaxed, ready for a deep rest.

Lily also discovered that playing on her tablet or watching cartoons right before bed made it harder to fall asleep. The bright screens made her mind feel too busy. She decided to turn off her tablet early, choosing instead the soft feel of paper and the wonderful smell of a real book.

She shared her wonderful discovery with her mother, Elena. “Mom, did you know? Books wrap around my sleep like a soft, warm blanket,” Lily explained. Elena was so happy to see Lily’s discovery and gave her a big, proud hug to support her new routine.

Starting that night, her father, Silas, joined in too. Every evening before bedtime, they all sat together and took turns reading a story selected from Lily’s little library. Their home felt like a peaceful reading lounge, filled with quiet joy.

Thanks to this calm routine, Lily felt her mind become still and quiet as soon as she tucked herself in. The moment she closed her eyes, the beautiful words she had read turned into colorful, sweet dreams that carried her into a deep sleep.

The next day at school, Lily told her best friend, Arlo, about her Sleepy Library. “If you have trouble falling asleep at night, I can lend you this book about the stars,” she offered. Arlo was very excited about the idea and looked at the book with curiosity.

Their teacher loved the idea so much that they started a special project in class. Lily and her friend Maya went to the front of the room and wrote “The Class Nighttime Story List” on the board. Every child added the name of a peaceful book they loved to read before sleep.

For Lily, books were no longer just for daytime adventures; they were now her most loyal friends for beautiful nights. As she reached out to turn off her bedside lamp, she smiled, knowing her library was ready to whisper the sweetest dreams in the world to her.
