It was a beautiful morning in the colorful savanna. Ziggy the little zebra woke up feeling very curious. He loved to explore the tall green grass and the bright flowers. But today, something caught his eye high above. He looked up at the big, bright blue sky and noticed that the fluffy white clouds were making wonderful shapes.

“Look at that!” Ziggy whispered to himself. He saw a very large cloud floating slowly past a tall acacia tree. To Ziggy, it looked just like a giant elephant! It had a long, curvy trunk and two massive floppy ears. Ziggy pointed his hoof toward the sky, following the elephant cloud as it drifted along.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew across the plains. The elephant cloud began to wiggle and stretch. Ziggy giggled as the trunk disappeared and the ears grew longer and pointier. “Now it looks like a rabbit!” he cried. The cloud now looked like a long-eared rabbit ready to hop across the blue sky.

Ziggy wanted to share the fun with his friends. He took a deep breath and called out as loud as he could. “Gerry! Monty! Come quickly! You have to see these magic clouds!” He stood on a small hill and waved his hooves to get their attention.

A moment later, Gerry the Giraffe wandered over. His neck was so long that he seemed much closer to the clouds than Ziggy. “What is all the excitement about, Ziggy?” Gerry asked with a kind smile. Ziggy pointed up and told him all about the elephant and the rabbit.

Gerry looked up at the very same cloud Ziggy was pointing at. He squinted his eyes and tilted his head from side to side. He watched as the white mist swirled in the wind. Gerry didn't see a rabbit at all. He saw something completely different growing in the sky.

“I don't see a rabbit, Ziggy,” Gerry said cheerfully. “I see a giant, beautiful flower! Look at the round middle and all the soft white petals reaching out.” Gerry took a deep breath, almost as if he could smell the sweet scent of the cloud-flower high above them.

Just then, Monty the Monkey swung down from a nearby branch. He landed with a soft thump right next to Gerry. “What are we looking at?” Monty asked, bouncing with energy. He looked up at the sky, his eyes darting from one cloud to another.

Monty looked at the cloud that Ziggy called a rabbit and Gerry called a flower. He rubbed his chin and did a little flip. “A flower? A rabbit? No way!” Monty laughed. To him, the cloud looked like something much more delicious.

“That is a big, giant banana!” Monty shouted, pointing at the curvy edge of the cloud. “It looks so yellow and sweet, I wish I could reach up and take a bite!” Ziggy and Gerry looked at each other and laughed. They were all looking at the same cloud, but everyone saw something different.

The three friends spent the whole afternoon imagining new shapes. They drew their own pictures in the air, pointing out cloud-castles, cloud-lions, and cloud-drums. Ziggy realized that it didn't matter what the cloud “really” was. What mattered was the fun they had sharing their own special way of seeing the world.

As the sun began to set, turning the sky into a blanket of orange and pink, Ziggy looked up one last time. A soft, round cloud was glowing in the evening light. To Ziggy, it looked like a giant, happy smiling face looking down on the savanna. He went to sleep knowing that the world is a wonderful place, especially when you share it with friends.
