Snowy the Little Polar Bear stood on a sparkling patch of ice and blinked his eyes. Something wonderful was happening! Soft flickers of light were dancing all around him. There were swirls of pretty pink and shimmers of bright gold hopping across the white ground. “How beautiful!” Snowy whispered, standing up on his tiptoes to get a better look at the magical colors.

Just then, a whiskers-first face popped up from the edge of the ice. It was Flippy the Little Seal. When he saw the pink light, his eyes grew wide with wonder. “It looks like a strawberry dance!” Flippy giggled, clapping his flippers together. Snowy smiled and asked his friend, “What other treats do these colors remind you of?”

Silver the Cheerful Seagull came gliding down from the sky and landed softly nearby. She flapped her wings and pointed toward a glowing patch on the water that looked like melted treasure. “Look at that!” Silver chirped. “That golden light is as sweet as honey and as bright as the morning sun!”

Waddle the Little Penguin heard the excitement and came sliding over on his belly. He saw the ice turning a deep, cool blue and started to jump for joy. Waddle loved to sing, and he began a happy rhyme: “Look over here, look over there, magic light is everywhere!”

Hoppy the Arctic Hare came dashing through the snow, his long ears twitching. He stopped suddenly when he saw a bright orange glow warming up the snowbanks. “This light looks just like a juicy, sweet orange!” Hoppy whispered in awe, his nose wiggling as if he could almost taste the color.

Out in the deep blue water, Splash the Whale Calf breached the surface with a mighty huff. He sent a great spray of water high into the air. As the sunlight hit the falling drops, a perfect little rainbow appeared above the waves. Now, every single color was dancing together in the sky!

The magic lights were playing everywhere! “Where will the light go next?” Flippy asked, splashing in the water. Suddenly, the colors drifted across the ice and landed right on Snowy. The little bear looked down at his own white, fluffy fur and gasped. He was covered in glowing spots of pink, gold, and orange!

The friends gathered to talk about the beautiful display. Hoppy asked, “Which one is the best? Is pink the brightest, or is orange the prettiest?” Silver flapped her wings and settled onto the ice. “They are all wonderful!” she chirped. Every color brought its own special kind of joy to their icy home.

As the sun began to sink lower in the sky, the colors started to change. The bright golds and oranges turned into soft purples and deep lavenders. Waddle and Splash watched quietly as the whole world turned a peaceful, misty violet. It felt like the Arctic was falling into a colorful dream.

The friends decided to celebrate the end of their colorful day. They all raised their voices together in a happy chant that echoed across the frozen sea: “Glowing ice and happy faces, colors hide in secret places! We count them all with giant smiles, across the snow for miles and miles!”

The horizon turned a deep, glowing gold as the last bit of the sun disappeared. All the friends went quiet, watching the sky’s final show. Nature was painting a masterpiece just for them. Snowy and Hoppy sat close together, feeling very lucky to live in such a sparkling, beautiful world.

As the lights finally faded into the starry night, Snowy looked at the ice one last time. He turned to his friends and shared a final thought: “The light all comes from the same big sky, but it shines differently on every piece of ice. The world is always colorful, as long as you remember to look for it.”
