The Forest Morning of the Little Chestnut Barrel

Good morning, forest! The sun is waking up. In the middle of a green clearing, the Little Barrel is sparkling with morning dew. He is very happy to see the new day.

Here comes Fancy the squirrel! She has a very fluffy tail and big, curious eyes. “Hello, Little Barrel!” Fancy chirps. She is feeling very cheerful today.

Fancy is busy collecting brown hazelnuts from the trees. The Little Barrel wants to help his friend. Tap-tap-tap! The nuts fall safely inside the barrel.

Now, a gentle friend arrives. It is Pitter the hedgehog! He walks slowly, going pitter-patter, pitter-patter across the forest floor. “Hello, friends,” Pitter says softly.

Pitter is looking for some soft green moss for his bed. The Little Barrel knows just where to go. He shows Pitter the way. Look! Here is a patch of the softest, greenest moss.

Boing, boing! Spotty the little deer fawn arrives. She has long, wobbly legs and loves to jump. “Look everyone, the sun is getting higher!” Spotty cries out joyfully.

Spotty is very thirsty after all her jumping. The Little Barrel finds some cool, silver water for her to drink. The water is fresh and delicious. Slurp, slurp!

Now they are all the best of friends. Fancy the squirrel and Pitter the hedgehog start to walk down the forest path. It is such a peaceful morning for a stroll.

The sun is high in the sky, turning everything into a beautiful gold. Spotty the deer and the Little Barrel walk together toward the giant tree in the distance.

They all reach the big chestnut tree and sit together in its cool shade. They watch the beautiful morning sun. Little acts of kindness make the friendship forest more beautiful every day.
