Nutty the Little Squirrel and the Leaf Rain

Deep in the golden forest, Nutty the little squirrel stood under a tall oak tree. The autumn air was cool. Suddenly, a gentle wind started to blow. “Whoosh, whoosh!” it whispered through the branches. Nutty twitched his nose and felt the breeze tickle his fur.

Nutty looked up and saw something magical. Dozens of leaves were tumbling down from the sky. They swirled and twirled like tiny dancers. Some were bright yellow, some were deep orange, and some were ruby red. The sky was full of falling colors.

Nutty clapped his little paws together in excitement. “Look! It is a leaf rain!” he shouted. He began to hop and skip. He tried to catch the leaves before they touched the ground. The forest floor was turning into a colorful carpet.

Just then, Barney the Rabbit hopped out from the bushes. “Hello, Nutty! Can I play in the leaf rain too?” Barney asked with a wiggle of his long ears. Nutty nodded happily. “Yes, Barney! Let's play together!”

High above, Pippin the Bird flew down from a branch. She landed softly near the pile of leaves. “I want to join the fun!” Pippin chirped. Nutty waved his paw. “Welcome, Pippin! The leaf rain is for everyone!”

The three friends began to dance. Nutty spun in circles, Barney hopped over the piles, and Pippin fluttered her wings to make the leaves fly again. They laughed and played as the leaves crunched under their feet.

“Let’s gather the leaves!” Nutty suggested. “We can make something special.” Nutty and Barney began to push the leaves into big, messy heaps. They worked together to bring all the fallen treasures into one place.

“First, let's find the yellow ones,” said Nutty. He picked up a leaf that looked like a bright piece of the sun. Pippin flew down to help. Soon, they had a beautiful pile of golden yellow leaves.

Next, it was time for the orange leaves. Barney found a very big one. “This looks just like a crunchy carrot!” he joked. He carried the orange leaves to a new spot, making a pile that glowed like a campfire.

Finally, they looked for the red leaves. Nutty and Barney found the brightest red leaves under the old maple tree. These leaves were as red as juicy autumn apples. They placed them carefully at the end of their row.

They lined the colors up side-by-side. “Look!” Nutty cheered. “We made a leaf rainbow!” Yellow, orange, and red stretched across the grass. Pippin chirped happily, “Sorting colors is so much fun!”

Suddenly, a strong wind blew “WHOOOOSH!” It lifted the leaf rainbow and carried the colors back into the deep forest. “Goodbye, leaves!” Nutty called out, waving his paw. The leaves were going back to nature, ready for a long winter sleep.
