Little Deer and the Golden Acorn

Little deer Benek was walking in the forest. Suddenly, he saw something shining on the ground. It was a golden acorn! Look, how beautiful! Benek said to himself. He felt very happy to find such a special treasure.

Benek met Pamuk, the white rabbit. Hello, Pamuk! said Benek. Pamuk gave a happy wiggle of her nose. Together, they looked at the forest floor and counted the acorns they found. One, two, three! Counting was so much fun for the two friends.

Benek and Kuyruk, the red squirrel, went to the colorful flowers. Smell them, Kuyruk, they are so lovely! said Benek. They leaned down and smelled the fragrant blossoms. The flowers were bright pink and deep blue, swaying in the breeze.

Cikcik, the tiny yellow chick, fluttered over to them. Look, Cikcik, butterflies are flying! said Benek. They looked up at the bright sky to watch the blue butterflies. The butterflies were dancing and twirling high above their heads.

Pıtır, the little hedgehog, slowly approached them. Let’s walk by the stream, Pıtır, said Benek. They walked together to the edge of the water. The stream was flowing gently over smooth stones, and the water felt very cool and refreshing.

Vakvak, the little duckling, was swimming in the water. Quack quack! said Vakvak happily. Benek and Vakvak walked tap-tap-tap along the water’s edge. Playing near the splashing water was so delightful on a warm day.

Tosba, the turtle, was resting in the warm sun. Hello, Tosba! said Benek. They decided to walk together, moving very, very slowly through the forest. The bright sun felt wonderful as it warmed their backs while they traveled.

Kıvırcık, the soft-furred lamb, was jumping in the tall grass. Come on, Kıvırcık, let’s jump together! said Benek. They jumped hop-hop-hop on the soft green grass. It felt like they were bouncing on a big, green cushion.

Pırpır, the sparrow, landed on a low tree branch. Listen, Pırpır, what is the wind saying? said Benek. The wind blew whoosh whoosh through the green leaves. All the birds in the trees chirped and sang a happy song together.

Kızıl, the little fox, joined the group. Look, Kızıl, the big oak tree is over there! said Benek. He pointed his nose toward the center of the woods. Together, they walked toward the biggest, oldest tree in the whole forest.

Benek carefully left the golden acorn under the big tree. You are safe here, he said in a very soft, kind voice. The golden acorn tucked into the mossy roots, shining like a little star in the shade of the tree.

All the friends were happy to be together. They played gentle games among the flowers as the sun began to set. How wonderful it was to share and be kind! Good night, little forest friends, whispered Benek.
