Mrs. Miller stood at the front of the classroom, her eyes sparkling behind her glasses. “Class, we have a very special mission,” she announced. “We need to save energy at our school! Who wants to lead the project?” Eren's heart jumped with excitement. He raised his hand as high as he could. “I do, Mrs. Miller! I want to be an Energy Detective!”

After class, Eren rushed to find his best friend, Selin. She was sitting by the bright orange swings on the playground. “Selin, I need a partner for the Energy Detectives!” Eren said breathlessly. Selin’s eyes lit up as she hopped down from the swing. “Count me in, Eren! I’ll bring my favorite notebook to record every clue.”

As they walked back to the building, they met Arda near the school library. Arda was famous for his cool gadgets. “You're going to need a scout,” Arda said, pulling a shiny magnifying glass from his pocket. Selin smiled and handed him a badge she had just drawn. The team was finally complete, and their patrol was about to begin!

The detectives crept down the quiet hallway of the art wing. They reached the craft room and peered inside. “Look!” Eren whispered, pointing at the ceiling. Even though the room was empty, the long lights were humming and glowing brightly. Arda checked his watch. “The class left ten minutes ago! That’s wasted energy!”

The team gathered at a large table to create a plan. Selin brought out a stack of neon-colored cardstock and a box of shimmering markers. “We need to make reminders for everyone,” she suggested. Together, she and Eren began drawing happy, winking lightbulbs and writing “Turn Me Off!” in big, bold letters.

Next, the detectives headed to the computer lab. The room was cool and dark, except for a row of monitors glowing with a ghostly blue light. “The computers are still awake!” Arda noticed. He and Selin moved from desk to desk, carefully clicking the 'Shut Down' buttons until every screen went black.

A whole week passed, and the Energy Detectives did their rounds every single afternoon. To their surprise, their job became harder and harder—but in a good way! As Eren and Arda walked through the halls, they found that every light was off and every door was closed. Their classmates were finally developing great habits.

Mrs. Miller invited the team to her desk to show them the results of their hard work. She opened a video on her large tablet. “By saving electricity, we help the whole planet,” she explained to Selin. “We help the polar bears keep their cold ice and the trees stay healthy and green.” Selin watched the screen in awe.

It was time for the school assembly. Eren and Selin stood on the stage in front of all the students and teachers. As they finished their presentation about their project, the entire room erupted in cheers. “Go Energy Detectives!” their friends shouted. Even the principal was standing up and clapping loudly for them.

That evening, when Eren got home, he felt like a real hero. He walked into the hallway and noticed the lamp in the living room was on, but no one was there. With a confident smile, he reached up and clicked the switch. “Goodnight, energy,” he whispered. Saving the world felt pretty great, one switch at a time.
