As the sun rose over the green forest with a big smile, Benny the little raccoon started his day with joy. “Today is going to be a wonderful day!” he chirped. He sang songs as he walked through the woods until he reached the edge of the shimmering river. He hopped and skipped by the water, unable to stay still.

When Benny leaned over the water's edge, he could not believe his eyes. At the bottom of the river, red, blue, and golden stones were shining. They looked like tiny stars hiding under the water. Benny leaned in closer to get a better look at this magical sight.

Just then, there was a rustle in the trees. Sammy the squirrel slid down from a branch, waving his long, fluffy tail. “Hi Benny! What are you looking at?” he asked. Benny excitedly pointed to the glowing stones. The two friends stood side by side, admiring the colorful treasures.

Benny couldn't help himself and dipped his paw into the cool water. “Look, Sammy, the water feels so fresh!” he said. He splashed the water into the air and laughed. The water droplets sparkled like a rainbow in the sunlight. Playing made Benny very happy.

“Ribbit! I'm here too!” a voice called out. It was Hopper, the green frog. He hopped from a lily pad onto the shore. When Hopper saw the stones in the river, he said, “We can use these stones to make a wonderful bridge!” Benny and Sammy loved the idea.

The three friends got straight to work. Sammy and Hopper pulled branches and leaves out of the river to clean it up. “If we keep nature clean, the stones will shine even brighter,” Sammy said. Together, they began to line up the stones. The river looked cleaner and more beautiful than ever.

They were a little hungry after all that work. Benny brought some fresh blackberries he found in the shade of the giant forest mushrooms. Benny and Sammy sat under a huge mushroom and happily ate their fruit. “Sharing makes everything taste better,” Sammy said, his mouth covered in purple berry juice.

Once their tummies were full, they sat on an old log by the shore. The sky was slowly turning orange and pink. Benny and Hopper watched the magical sunset, enchanted by the beauty of nature. The sky looked like a painting from a famous artist.

As it started to get dark, it was time to say goodbye. Benny and Sammy walked slowly along the forest path, talking about how much fun they had. “We did a great job cleaning the river,” Benny said. They knew just how important it was to protect nature.

Benny returned to his cozy home inside a hollow of a big tree. It was filled with soft leaves and green moss. He lay down in his bed, feeling peaceful after a day of trying new things and spending time with his friends. “Home, sweet home,” he whispered.

A nightly silence fell over the forest. Outside, the river continued to flow calmly. Hopper sat on a stone, watching the reflection of the bright stars on the surface of the river. Everything was washed in a silvery, gentle light.

Little Benny slowly closed his eyes. In his dreams, he was with his friends again, dancing on top of the shimmering stones. The whole forest fell into a deep and happy sleep with him. Goodnight, little Benny.
