Pip the little seahorse saw a bright green sea leaf moving slowly through the water. The leaf was gliding through the ocean just like a bird in the sky. Pip was very curious. “I wonder where this leaf is going?” he thought to himself.

Sunny, a little yellow fish, swam happily over to Pip. “Look, Pip! It looks like the leaf is going on an adventure!” she said. The leaf swayed gently among the tiny bubbles. Do you think the leaf is moving all by itself?

Just then, Barnaby the wise sea turtle glided slowly past them. Pip and Sunny kept following the leaf and caught up with Barnaby. “How does this leaf keep moving without getting tired?” Pip asked. Barnaby smiled and showed them the way.

Barnaby said, “Let’s not touch the leaf, children. Let’s just watch.” Sunny swam in circles around the leaf but never touched it. Do you think the leaf will go up higher, or drift further down?

Ollie the little octopus poked his head out from behind a rock. He joined them, moving his eight arms gently. “What a quiet and peaceful journey,” Ollie said. It looked as if the leaf were being carried by an invisible hand.

Sunny noticed tiny bubbles swirling behind the leaf. “Look, the water is dancing here!” she shouted. Ollie waved one of his arms at the leaf as it glided through the bubbles. The leaf was in no hurry at all.

Click the crab, who was walking sideways across the sand, saw them. “Where are you all going?” he asked, clicking his claws together lightly. Barnaby replied, “We are accompanying the leaf on its journey, Click. We want to see where the water takes it.”

Starla the starfish, who was resting on a coral reef, smiled at them. Pip leaned toward Starla and asked, “The leaf is very patient, isn't it?” Starla stretched her bright arms and nodded in agreement.

Click and Starla watched the curves the leaf made in the water. Sometimes the water moved faster, and the leaf would spin happily along with it. “The water is rocking the leaf like a cradle,” Click said. Do you think the leaf will bump into anything?

Sunny and Ollie cleared a wide path for the leaf to pass through. They felt a great respect for this little game of nature. “It’s like there’s a wind inside the water,” Sunny said. The leaf was approaching a calm, quiet beach.

Finally, the leaf landed softly on the golden sand. It wasn't moving anymore. Pip and Click swam and crawled right up to the leaf and stopped. The leaf had finished its journey and was now resting.

Pip turned to his friends and smiled. “We can’t see the water’s current, but we can understand which way it flows by the things it carries,” he said. Barnaby nodded. They all headed home, happy to understand the invisible but powerful movement of nature.
