Once upon a time, in the heart of a lush green forest, there was a sparkling lake. The water was a bright turquoise color, and it shimmered under the morning sun. Oliver the Otter lived here. One morning, while Oliver was floating lazily on his back, he heard a mysterious sound. “Drip... drop... drip...” It sounded like the start of a secret song.

Oliver loved the sound! “I want to join in,” he thought happily. He began to tap his paws against the surface of the water. “Splash, tap, splash!” The rhythm he made created cheerful little circles that danced across the lake.

Suddenly, Daisy the Duck paddled over from the tall reeds. “Quack, quack! What a lovely beat, Oliver!” she said. Daisy started flapping her wings against the water to join the rhythm. Now the lake was filled with “splash-taps” and “quack-quacks.”

Before long, a new sound came from a large green lily pad. “Ribbit! I’m here too!” called Freddy the Frog. Freddy puffed out his throat and began to sing as loud as he could. Now, the three friends were all making music together in the middle of the lake.

But there was a big problem! Oliver was splashing very fast, Daisy was quacking without stopping, and Freddy was ribbiting louder and louder. The sounds all crashed together. It wasn't a beautiful song anymore; it was just a giant, messy noise! Everyone was trying to be the loudest.

Oliver suddenly stopped. He put his paw to his mouth. “Shhh! Friends, I can't hear the music anymore,” he said. Everyone went quiet. The lake became very still. Oliver whispered, “If we don't listen to each other, we can't make a beautiful song together.”

They decided to try again, but this time, they took turns. Daisy went first: “Quack, quack!” Then she waited. Freddy went next: “Ribbit, ribbit!” It was much more fun to wait and listen. They started to see how their sounds could fit together like pieces of a puzzle.

Oliver found a hollow log floating nearby and used it as a drum. “Thump, thump, tap!” he played. Now the song of the lake sounded wonderful. Every sound was in the right place, and they all worked together. The noise was gone, and a real orchestra had taken its place.

The birds in the trees heard the beautiful harmony and flew down to join in. Lyra the little bird sang the highest, prettiest notes of all. The whole forest turned into a giant musical festival, filled with splashes, quacks, croaks, and chirps.

Oliver looked at his friends and smiled. He realized how important it was to work together. “When we listen to others instead of just ourselves, we can create something truly beautiful,” he thought. Daisy and Freddy smiled back, happy to be part of the band.

As the sun began to hide behind the mountains, the forest song grew soft and quiet. The last notes drifted away on the gentle breeze. Oliver, Daisy, and Freddy were tired from their long day of music and said their goodbyes.

Oliver returned to his cozy nest made of soft green moss. As he closed his eyes, he could still hear the lovely, harmonious song in his head. “Let's make a new song tomorrow,” he whispered to himself, before falling into a deep, happy sleep.
