Little Squirrel Hazel and the Flying Leaf

Little Hazel the squirrel sat on a branch of the old oak tree, watching the autumn wind. The colorful leaves danced through the air, looking like they were having so much fun. “I wish I could fly like a leaf!” she thought happily. Have you ever watched the leaves dance in the wind?

Hazel hopped down from the tree and started walking along the path. Suddenly, a giant, bright orange maple leaf fell right in front of her. It landed as light as a feather, as if it were waiting for her. What do you think a maple leaf looks like?

Just then, a little hedgehog named Bramble popped out from behind a bush. “Hello, Hazel! What a beautiful leaf,” he said with a grin. Hazel said excitedly, “We could turn it into a boat and sail it in the little puddle!” Why do you think it’s fun to share ideas with friends?

The two friends carefully carried the leaf to a calm puddle near the river. They placed a shiny acorn on top of it. It looked just like a little captain had boarded the ship! Do you like floating toys in the water?

Along the way, a little frog named Hopper joined them. He hopped over to the edge of the puddle and asked, “Can I help the captain?” Together, they watched the leaf boat glide across the water. They were so happy as the water droplets sparkled! How do you help your friends when you play?

A gentle breeze blew, and the leaf boat began to drift slowly across the water. Hazel and Bramble followed it along the bank, waving their paws as it sailed away. How does it feel when you find little surprises in nature?

During the journey, a little sparrow named Pip called out to them from a tree. “Your boat looks wonderful, explorers!” she chirped. Birds love to watch the world from above. Would you like to see the world from high up in the sky?

At last, the leaf boat reached the soft green grass at the other side and stopped. Everyone took a little break and shared some sweet blueberries they had brought along. How does it feel to share a snack with your friends?

As the sun began to set, the sky turned beautiful shades of orange and pink. The forest grew quiet, and the evening breeze made the leaves rustle like a soft lullaby. Does watching the sunset make you feel peaceful?

On her way home, Hazel thought about what a wonderful adventure she had. One big, flying leaf had given her a day she would never forget. What was your favorite game to play today?

The little squirrel curled up in her cozy nest and closed her eyes. Outside, the leaves continued to fall gently to the ground. The stars were twinkling brightly in the sky. Do you like looking at the stars before you go to sleep?

Hazel began to have the sweetest dreams. In her dream, she was flying through the sky on a giant boat made of colorful leaves. Now it’s your turn! Can you close your eyes and imagine your very own dream?
