One cloudy morning, Elvin the little fawn saw a shiny raindrop. It sat on a leaf like a tiny diamond. How pretty! he whispered.

Pip began to dig. His little paws moved fast. Scratch, scratch, scratch! He made a soft, round hole in the earth for the water.

Kiki the Squirrel scurried down from a tall oak tree. She was carrying soft, green leaves. These will keep the ground cool, Kiki told Elvin.

Erin the Hedgehog came puffing along the path. He was rolling smooth, round stones. I can help too! Erin said to Elvin.

Erin carefully placed the stones in a neat line. He made a beautiful border around the garden. It looked very tidy and strong.

Lora the Sparrow chirped from above. She flew down with tiny seeds in her beak. These seeds will grow into flowers, she told Elvin.

Tora the Wise Turtle crawled slowly toward the garden. Elvin knelt down to listen. We need a path for the water, Tora said wisely.

Tora used a small stick to draw a long, winding line in the dirt. This was the special path for the rain to flow through.

Everyone was busy! Pip and Kiki worked together to tuck the seeds into the soft soil and cover them with the green leaves.

Soon, the rain fell and the sun began to shine. Bright flowers bloomed everywhere! Elvin and Lora looked at their beautiful rain garden.
