From what age can toddlers use these books?
Babies can enjoy the narration and bright pictures early on, and following the pages usually starts around one year old. Most books are for ages 0-3, and 21 slightly longer ones suit children close to four.
How is this shelf different from the Ages 0-3 page?
The Ages 0-3 page lists every book for that age group. The Toddler Books shelf is a selection of short, repetitive stories about small objects and animals helping each other, and it also includes some books for children nearing four.
How long is a toddler book?
Narration ranges from about half a minute to four minutes, and most are around two minutes. If your toddler loses interest halfway, it's fine to stop.
Any tips for reading with a toddler?
Point to the object in the picture, copy the sounds and come back to the same book often. Keeping the screen dim and reading together on your lap keeps it calm.
Can I use these like paper books?
Yes. Download the PDF, print it on thick paper and turn the pages together.
Which toddler books suit bedtime?
Stories with slow, gliding water scenes, like Little Raki and His Tiny Boat, have a calm pace. For more bedtime picks, see the Bedtime Stories genre page.
