The Moonlight Train

“Emma loved watching the stars before going to sleep each night. One evening she heard a strange train whistle echoing from far away. There had not been a working train line in their town for many years.”

“Unable to resist her curiosity, Emma put on her coat and walked through the silent streets. Through the drifting fog, the shape of an old stone station slowly appeared. Only pale moonlight illuminated the empty platform.”

“A black train stood quietly beside the platform. Silver star patterns shimmered along the sides of the carriages. Just then, a small white cat with glowing blue eyes appeared beside Emma’s feet.”

“Emma followed the cat toward the train. The door slowly opened and warm golden light spilled into the night. Inside sat an old man with a long silver beard.”

“Welcome aboard the Moonlight Train,” the old man said with a gentle smile. “My name is Elias.” Emma looked around in amazement. The stars outside the windows seemed to move across the sky.”

“At that moment Emma’s friend Noah arrived at the station, breathing heavily. He had followed her because he was worried about her wandering outside alone at night.”

“The train began to move silently through the darkness. Outside the windows the world changed as glowing blue lights drifted over endless forests. Luna the white cat wandered quietly between the seats.”

“After a while the train entered a dark tunnel. The shadows inside seemed to move on their own. Noah looked at Emma nervously, but Emma continued forward carefully.”

“Luna suddenly meowed and leaped onto the window ledge. Far away in the sky, a giant city glowing with golden lights appeared. The city seemed to float among the clouds.”

“Old Conductor Elias slowly stood up. “This is the City of Lost Dreams,” he said softly. “Only those who truly wonder about the unknown are able to reach it.””

“When the train finally stopped, Emma and Noah looked out the window in awe. Flying lights drifted through the streets while glowing bridges and towering spires stretched toward the stars.”

“The next morning Emma awoke in her bed. Everything felt like a dream. But resting on her windowsill was a small silver train ticket, and one of Luna’s white hairs shimmered softly in the morning light.”
