Deep in the vast, green forest lived a curious squirrel named Nutty. He loved his big, shiny acorn named Pip more than anything in the world. Nutty sat on his favorite branch every day just to admire how Pip glowed in the sunlight.

## Page 2
One morning, Pip was missing! Nutty looked through the soft moss in his home, but his favorite acorn was nowhere to be found. His little heart beat fast as he realized Pip was gone.

## Page 3
Where did Pip go? Nutty cried. He searched under his leaf bed and moved all his smooth stones, but Pip had vanished into thin air. Searching all alone was starting to feel very hard.

## Page 4
Nutty realized that his forest friends could help him! He puffed out his chest and darted out of his nest, ready to find someone who might have seen his precious Pip.

High up on an oak branch, Nutty found Barnaby the Owl. Barnaby adjusted his big, round glasses and looked down kindly. Nutty told him all about how Pip had disappeared.

## Page 6
Acorns love to roll, Barnaby hooted softly. I saw the wind blowing toward the big red mushrooms. Perhaps your friend rolled that way. Barnaby pointed a wing toward the forest floor.

Nutty ran quickly to the mushrooms, but Pip wasn't there. Instead, he met Andy the Ant. Andy was very small but very strong, and he was carrying a green leaf that was much bigger than he was!

## Page 8
I saw something shiny shoot off like a ball! Andy chirped. It bounced right past the big rock and kept going downward. Andy used his tiny feelers to point the way.

Nutty reached the big rock and found Silas the Turtle resting in a warm patch of sun. Silas was very slow, but he was also very kind. He listened to Nutty's story without rushing at all.

Silas nodded his head slowly. That energetic brown thing bounced right into the sunniest clearing, Silas said. It landed in the spot where the soil is the softest.

Nutty ran like the wind! His paws blurred as he raced toward the sunny clearing. Pip, I'm coming to find you! he whispered happily to himself.

## Page 12
There it was! Pip was safe and sound, nestled in a pile of soft green moss. Nutty picked up his acorn and gave it a giant, happy hug. He was so glad to see his friend again.

## Page 13
Nutty ran back to the trees to find his helpers. Thank you for not leaving me alone! he shouted up to the branches. He saw Barnaby looking down and waved Pip in the air.

Nutty met Silas and Andy by the big rock to share his joy. He realized that Pip was even more special when he could show the acorn to his friends. They all sat together in the soft grass.

Helping each other makes every problem easier, Nutty smiled as he sat with Andy. He felt very lucky. He hadn't just found his lost acorn; he had found how much his friends cared about him.
