> Deep in the heart of the forest square, Pippa the Magpie found an old wooden chest. It was tucked under a large oak tree, empty and waiting. “This is a wonderful find!” Pippa chirped. The sun sparkled on the wood, making it look like a treasure box just waiting to be filled. By the time the sun began to set, the chest was empty once again. But as Pippa looked around, she saw all her friends using their new treasures. “The chest is empty,” Pippa whispered to the evening breeze, “but our hearts are full of love.”

Pippa had a brilliant idea. She decided to turn it into a 'Sharing Chest' for all her friends. She flew to the tallest branch and called out to the forest. “Bring things you don't need, and take what you can use!” she sang. Molly the Rabbit was the first to hear her and hopped over to see.

Molly the Rabbit reached into her burrow and pulled out a long, silky red ribbon. “I don't need this for my ears anymore,” she said with a smile. She hopped to the chest and laid the ribbon inside. Pippa watched happily as the first bit of color brightened the wooden box.

Next came Sammy the Squirrel, carrying three bright orange pine cones. “I have too many of these in my nest,” Sammy explained. He carefully tucked them into the corner of the chest. Pippa tilted her head and chirped a thank you to her bushy-tailed friend.

Henry the Hedgehog waddled over, pushing a small, sturdy woven basket. “I found a bigger one for my berries,” Henry grunted softly. “Maybe someone else can use this one.” Pippa helped him nudge the basket into the Sharing Chest. It fit perfectly next to the ribbon and the cones.

Lulu the Lamb wandered by with a piece of soft, sky-blue cloth. “This was my favorite blanket when I was very little,” Lulu said. “But now I am a big lamb! I want someone else to feel warm.” She dropped the blue cloth onto the pile of treasures.

Finally, Sunny the Sparrow flew down with two sparkling, colorful stones in her beak. “These are too heavy for my nest, but they are so pretty!” Sunny chirped. She placed the purple and gold stones on top of the blue cloth. The chest was now full of wonderful things.

A little while later, the friends began to realize they needed things! Molly the Rabbit looked at the woven basket. “Oh! I need a basket just like that to carry my heavy carrots home,” she cried. Pippa chirped, “That’s the magic of sharing! It’s yours now, Molly.”

Sammy the Squirrel looked at the blue cloth. The air was getting a bit chilly. “That cloth looks so soft and warm,” he whispered. “It would make my bed very cozy.” Pippa nodded, and Sammy happily bundled the blue fabric under his arm to take back to his tree.

Henry the Hedgehog spotted the colorful stones. “My garden is a bit plain,” he thought. “Those stones would look like stars on the ground!” He carefully picked up the purple and gold stones. Pippa did a little dance, happy to see Henry so pleased.

Lulu the Lamb saw the red ribbon sitting all alone. “I would love a splash of color for the forest party!” she bleated. Pippa picked up the ribbon and helped Lulu loop it around her neck. Lulu looked very fancy and did a joyful little skip.
