Cici the squirrel was not just energetic; she was the most curious creature in Whispering Woods. Today, her curiosity was focused entirely on finding the perfect winter snack. She squeaked with delight when she spotted the Acorn of Acorns!

## Page 2
It was fat, smooth, and shiny brown—the largest and best acorn she had ever seen! Cici tucked it firmly into her cheek, ready for the long journey home to her cozy tree-hole. She hopped over a root and then, eep! The acorn tumbled out!

Cici searched high and low, but the magnificent acorn was gone! She zipped up the tallest pine tree to find the wise old Aspen, who was just waking up from his afternoon nap. "Aspen, please help me!" she whispered urgently.

Aspen gently ruffled his feathers. "My dear Cici," he said in a slow, deep voice. "You are looking everywhere, but remember: if an acorn rolls, it always seeks the lowest place. Follow the dips and hollows."

Cici thanked Aspen and scurried back down. She stopped by a thick bush where Barnaby the Badger was busy clearing away some stubborn roots. Barnaby was strong and very good at moving heavy things.

Cici explained the disaster of the lost acorn. "A rolling acorn, eh?" Barnaby smiled. "We’ll need to check the drainpipes and hidden dips!" Just then, Ayla the Bluebird zipped down, landing lightly on Barnaby's shoulder.

"Ayla, can you look from up high? Barnaby can check the ground, and I can check the logs!" Cici jumped up and down. Now, they were a team! Barnaby started digging gently around the deepest dip nearby.

## Page 8
Ayla flew in slow, tight circles high above, using her incredible eyesight to scan the shadows the acorn might be hiding in. She knew that even the smallest bit of shine would give it away.

"I see it!" Ayla suddenly sang out, swooping low. "It’s glinting! Next to the big, grey pebble, just by the edge of the creek!" She pointed her beak precisely at the spot.

Cici raced over, followed closely by Barnaby. Sure enough, there it was! The Acorn of Acorns, perfectly wedged between the grey pebble and a patch of soft moss, just as Aspen had predicted.

"Hooray!" Cici shouted, clutching the acorn tightly. "Thank you! I never would have found it all alone. Your digging, Ayla’s eyesight, and Aspen’s wisdom saved the day!"

Cici carefully stored her magnificent acorn. Then, she brought out three plump hazelnuts for her friends. Sharing and teamwork truly made everything easier, and the success was much sweeter when shared!
